The Gap I Noticed

Despite the rising popularity of fitness apps, I noticed a gap: most platforms focus only on performance and numbers — not on why we run or how we feel about the impact we create. I’m not a professional runner; for me, running is more like therapy. Still, I’ve joined many running events, and each time the sense of community and motivation I felt mattered far more than any metric. That experience made me wonder:

Can we design a platform that makes running meaningful beyond fitness metrics — giving it a clear, purpose-driven, environmental impact?

The Process

The process was based on the Double Diamond approach, structured around discovering real user needs, defining clear goals, generating thoughtful solutions, and testing iteratively.

From Insights to Design Direction

Running is more mental than physical, especially for beginners. Based on user feedback, we knew we had to design for motivation, not just measurement.
